Rules Committee

Any resolution to amend the Rules of Council must be referred to the Rules Committee where it is to be considered immediately, taking precedence over any other business before the committee, and the committee must make a report on the resolution to amend any rule(s) at the next regular session of Council following its introduction. This Committee is required to meet at least once each year to review the standing Rules of Council. The authority of this Committee includes, but is not limited to, reviewing, investigating and recommending council action in areas involving eligibility for office and conflicts of interest. This Committee is also required to review, investigate and recommend council approval or disapproval of all candidates recommended to fill vacancies for positions on Village Council or any of the Village’s Boards or Committees.
